Burns' Night 2018
Ah, the smell of haggis in the evening. Once again we will be having our Burn's Night Fundraiser at The Celtic Cowboy in Great Falls, MT. Join us Jan 27th at 6:30pm for poetry, music, drinks and food. The Celtic Cowboy is adding Highlander Beer and a drink special to their offerings just for the occasion, along with a special Scottish menu, including but not limited to the staring sausage, Haggis made with ingredients donated by Montana company A Land of Grass.
Other local companies are helping out by donating a variety of goods to our silent auction.
Burns' Night is a traditional celebration of the national poet of Scotland, Robert Burns (1/25/1759-7/2/1796). Burns' wrote 191 poems and 368 songs, including Auld Lang Syne, Scots Wa Hae, and Ode to the Haggis. He gained popularity in his own time and long after for his promotion of Scottish culture at a time it was at risk of fading under England's influence. Burns' Night has been celebrated off and on in Great Falls since 1891.
Now that our first and second year festivals have proven we can pull this off, its time to give all our attendees what they've been asking for: MORE. To do more takes more however. Help us by coming down to Raise a Pint at Mighty Mo, our first fundraising event for Kilt O' the Falls 2018.
Great Falls natives will know the local brewery Mighty Mo holds it's Raise a Pint Nights every Monday for a variety of causes. Kilt O' the Falls has its turn October 30th at 5pm. Joe Ryan will be joining us once again to provide music.
